My Competitive Journey

 

My journey in the beauty industry has taken me to the global stage through a series of international competitions, each one pushing me to refine my skills further. I participated in my first competition, the K-Beauty Olympics in Bangkok, Thailand, on September 16, 2018. Competing on an international level was both challenging and thrilling, and I was honored to win 3rd Prize in my category. This achievement fueled my passion for excellence and encouraged me to continue advancing my craft.

 

On November 1-2, 2019, I entered my second competition in Seoul, South Korea. With greater confidence and refined skills, I competed against top artists from around the world and secured 1st Prize, a significant milestone that validated my hard work and dedication. This recognition motivated me to aim even higher.

 

The pinnacle of my competitive journey came on October 31, 2021, when I competed in the Eyebrows Shading Machine Category at the International PMU (Permanent Makeup) Championship in Seoul. This prestigious event brought together the world’s best artists, and I was honored to receive the World Grand Prix, a testament to my commitment and expertise in advanced semi-permanent makeup techniques.

 

In 2022, I continued to challenge myself, entering the Lips Category at the International Global PMU in Vietnam. Competing in a new category broadened my skills and allowed me to showcase my versatility in permanent makeup. Each competition, along with the countless hours of practice and preparation, has enriched my abilities and strengthened my passion for delivering top-quality services to my clients.

 

The History of Melody Aesthetic House

 

Melody Aesthetic House was founded in September 2017, born out of my passion for skincare and my desire to make a positive impact. I launched the business in an extra room in my parents’ house in Jade Valley Homes Subdivision, supported by my close college friends who trusted in my skills. However, the location was prone to flooding, forcing me to pause operations temporarily.

 

When I returned to Japan, I attempted to continue my business from home but faced challenges due to a lack of support. After a divorce and a fresh start, I returned to Japan on my own, leaving my son in the Philippines for a time. I started over from scratch—living in a shared house and working in hotels day and night to save money. I even conducted skincare sessions in my shared house, despite the strict rules, which earned me multiple warnings. Eventually, a client offered me a vacant room in her apartment—a small loft where I could sleep upstairs and operate my esthetic services below. This became my starting point, allowing me to leave my hotel housekeeping job and take on a position as an assistant nurse. I offered esthetic services on weekends while working at the hospital, and in 2021, with the onset of the pandemic, I decided to go full-time with Melody Aesthetic House. Since then, I have been dedicated entirely to my business, committed to giving my clients the best possible experience.

 

My Journey

 

My journey has been marked by resilience, adaptability, and a commitment to growth. Since moving to Japan in 2017, I have faced numerous challenges, particularly after becoming a single mother in 2019. Navigating the high-paced and costly environment of Tokyo has tested my resolve, yet these experiences have only strengthened my dedication to my family and my work.

 

My passion for the beauty industry drives me to help my clients achieve their beauty goals, and it is my greatest joy to witness their transformations. I believe that each individual has the potential to shine, and I strive to inspire and motivate my clients through my work. My experiences have taught me that setbacks can lead to growth and that every challenge presents an opportunity to refine my skills and deepen my understanding of beauty and wellness.

 

I continuously seek to enhance my knowledge and expertise, embracing the importance of lifelong learning in this ever-evolving industry. My journey has reinforced my belief in the power of beauty—not only as a reflection of our outward appearance but as a source of confidence and empowerment within ourselves.
